How to play

Move: tap a piece, then tap a highlighted square, or drag the piece there. Dots are moves, rings are captures.
Goal: checkmate the enemy king: attack it so it has no way out.
Castling: move your king two squares toward a rook. Neither may have moved, and the king may not be in, pass through or land in check.
En passant: a pawn that just moved two squares can be taken by a pawn beside it, as if it had moved one.
Promotion: a pawn reaching the last rank becomes a queen, rook, bishop or knight. You choose.
Draws: stalemate, threefold repetition, the fifty-move rule, or too little material to mate.
Online: choose Play a friend and send the link, or Find an opponent. You can offer a draw or resign at any time, and if your opponent is gone for a minute you can claim the win.
